Chapter 4: Share Using LionShare >> Using a Network Folder
Network folders are provided to share files when the LionShare application is not being used. Network folders can be used to share resources with others persistently, so files can be made available when the users are not connected to the LionShare network. LionShare allows files to be shared even when the user is not running LionShare application by moving these resources to the Network folder. Files shared in the Network folders retain all permissions and descriptive information that the owner has placed on the shared files.
To access network folders:
1. Select the Library tab.
2. Select the network folder in the folder organizer so that it is highlighted.
3. Select Add Folder from the folder management tabs.
4. Select nServer from the Server Selection Dialog.
5. Select Save to make the server accessible
To create a new network folder:
1. Select the nServer that has been accessed.
2. Select Add Folder from the folder management tabs.
3. Provide a folder name in the New Local Folder Dialog that is presented.
4. Save the Folder name – a new folder will be added on the nServer in the folder organizer.
To add a file to the network folder:
1. Select a user created Network folder in the folder organizer.
2. Select the + Add tab below the file listing.
3. Navigate to the desired file to share using the Open file browser.
4. Select Open to add the selected file.
To edit a network folder name:
1. Select a user created Network folder in the folder organizer to be renamed.
2. Provide a folder name in the New Local Folder Dialog that is presented.
3. Save the Folder name – a edited folder will be replaced on the nServer in the folder organizer.
To Delete a network folder:
1. Select a user created network folder in the folder organizer to be deleted.
2. Select the Delete Folder from the Folder management tabs – the folder will be deleted on the nServer.
To nest a folder within another folder:
1. Select a user created network folder in the folder organizer.
2. Select Add Folder from the folder management tabs
3. Provide a folder name in the New Local Folder Dialog box that will appear.
4. Save the Folder name – a new folder within the existing folder will be created.
