Chapter 4: Share Using LionShare >> Managing Share Files Using Permissions
One of LionShare’s unique features provides the ability to add access permissions to manage who has access to the file. This feature allows a LionShare user to share files with specific members at their institution and even other organizations outside their institution. Permissions are assigned by creation of a use policy that can be associated with a particular shared file.
To create a new Permissions policy for a shared file:
1. Select a file in a user created folder in the file organizer.
2. Select the Permissions tab.
3. Select New Policy from the Permissions for File Dialog.
4. Provide a Policy Name for the new permission.
5. Select Next to advance to the Policy Editor dialog.
6. Deselect the User Affiliation
7. Select Access Account
8. Select Next
9. Enter list of users to have access to the selected file using Add User.
10. Select Next.
11. Save Policy as Template – allows for reuse of policy.
12. Select Finish.
