The following items will be found on the LionShare Login window:

Username – Username refers to the institutional User ID that has been assigned to gain access to the resources of your university network

Password – Password is the unique and secure password that would normally be used in association with your institutional User ID

Login – The Login button securely sends the information the user provides to verify the identity for using LionShare’s secure file sharing and collaboration features

Limited Mode – Limited Mode button provides LionShare users with the capability to search for and download files that are unprotected.  Unprotected files are those that have no access control associated with them. Many of the repositories accessed through LionShare are public repositories that do not restrict use of the files that are distributed. Besides the LionShare network, a LionShare search can query academic repositories and local files.

Note: Individuals using LionShare in the Limited Mode do not have access to User Chat, LionShare nServers, nor can they share or retrieve protected files. LionShare’s Search allows the user to search for files shared on other user machines and servers.

To Log on to the LionShare Network
1. Type in Username.
2. Type in Password.
3. Select the Login button.

To use LionShare Limited Mode
1. Select the Limited Mode button.
2. Start the search.
