Chapter 3: Search Using LionShare >> Repositories Search
The Repositories Search directs search queries towards a number of known learning resource repositories. Search queries are sent to all repositories at the same time and search result are listed as they are located. Searches can be further directed to specific resource repositories by configuring the search using the configuration tool located next to the Repositories check box.
The configuration tool brings up the Repositories Search Configuration Dialog, which allows the users to select specific repositories to search. Select the particular repository by using the check box located next to the selection. By toggling the check boxes on or off, search will be directed to the desired location(s). Descriptions of each repository and the subject area of its contents can be obtained by using the Description/Hide Description toggle.
To select the specific repositories to search:
1. Select the check box next to the Repositories search and a configuration icon will appear to the right of the Repositories check box.
2. Click on the configuration icon.
3. When the Repositories Search Configuration Dialog appears, select the Repository to search.
4. To select multiple repositories, hold the Shift key while selecting repositories.
5. A description of the desire repository is provided by highlighting the repository name and clicking “Show Description” located in the lower left of the Search Configuration Dialog box.
6. Click the OK tab to confirm the selections.
To search Repositories:
1. Select the check box next to the Repository search domain.
2. Enter a keyword in the Search text field.
3. Select Search and the search results will begin to appear.
To Show/Hide Description:
1. Select a file.
2. Locate the small triangle next to Show Description, located toward the bottom left of the screen.
3. Select Show Description and the description will be revealed.
