Chapter 1: Introduction to LionShare >> Secure Sharing

The sharing capabilities of the LionShare Peer application exceeds traditional P2P file sharing technologies. LionShare employs a shared library approach for displaying shared files. Users simply add files to be shared directly from their host system to their Shared Library. LionShare also has implemented additional options to ensure secure sharing.  Unlike traditional P2P, access control and security are important concepts in the LionShare paradigm and allow users to control which users or groups can access each file or folder.

LionShare uses a hybrid P2P/client-server network architecture. One element of the client-server aspect of the architecture is the nServer.  An nServer allows users to upload files to the nServer and share them without requiring users to maintain a connection to the LionShare network.
