Authentication Requirements

Users outside of Penn State, there is a build available, but its restricted to people who fall in to one of the following categories:

• LionShare Partners (SFU, Internet2, Mellon)
• Higher Education IT Staff
• Higher Education Faculty

Terms and Conditions of Use

Temporary Service

You have requested an account on our test Kerberos realm for evaluating the LionShare network. The first thing you should be aware of is that this is a *TEMPORARY* service provided as a courtesy to allow you to more easily evaluate all of the features LionShare offers without deploying the entire infrastructure.

Account Will Be Terminated

Because this account is temporary, it *will be removed* on or shortly before *December 30, 2006* when our testing will no longer be supported.

Run your own LionShare

You should also be aware that if you have the proper institutional infrastructure, you can run all the software to install the LionShare P2P network locally at your institution. For more information on the infrastructure necessary to run the LionShare network, please see the  following  information.

Stability and Interruption in Service

We should also mention that there will be occasions when the infrastructure will *not* be available. So you should not depend on these services for any reason.

Bugs and User Feedback

We are continually looking to improve LionShare. We encourage you to send comments and report bugs that you are finding in our software. If you would like to provide comments to the developer team you can do so by joining one of the LionShare mailing lists. If you find bugs when testing one of the LionShare components (Peer, PeerServer, or SASL-CA), we encourage you to provide a  report bugs.

Do Not Share Copyrighted Content

Copyrighted materials belonging to others, SHOULD NOT BE SHARED on this network. If you share content on this network, you should expect that others might make copies of the content. The test account provides no ability to limit who has access to your shared content. Users sharing copyrighted material without the permission of the copyright owner will be removed from the network. Please share content responsibly!

Accounts given to non-psu users are temporary accounts for testing purposes only. All accounts will expire in the Winter of 2006.
